Black Wall Street Corner Store & More Opens In Greenwood District To Pay Homage To Forefathers

The Black Wall Street Corner Store & More held a soft opening yesterday and will officially open to the public on Wednesday, June 2.

Owner Angela Robinson says she opened the convenience store because she felt it was a necessity in the community.

You can buy snack and drinks, as well as items from other local businesses in the area.

Robinson says the location is special because of its history.

“I wanted to pay homage to my forefathers who were here before me on this particular site,” she said. “In 1921, this was a parlor for shoe shining, a shoe shine parlor, so I definitely wanted to pay homage to that.”
